U3A Cooking Class Celebrates Christmas
The tables were groaning with food when the U3A Cooking Classes of the World group gathered for their annual Christmas party hosted by their teacher Lynne MacMillan. Everyone was keen to show case their cooking skills and contributed a variety of dishes from all corners of the globe, including local oysters. The feast was shared over a glass of Christmas cheer.
All agreed 2012 had been a wonderful culinary journey across a wide variety of cuisines including Iran, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Croatia and Northern Italy. A highlight was the September cooking trips to southern France, where U3A members indulged in serious cooking, eating and touring.
These and other cooking experiences are on offer from U3A in 2013. If you are keen to try new and exciting cuisines in small ‘hands on’ cooking groups, why not join U3A and enjoy a social third age learning experience.
